If you’re home-based, there’s lots you can do. Email, write and - especially - tell all your friends by phone and email about how the government is planning to censor the internet. Get them active, if you can - they can send emails, and write letters, too.
Here’s some things you and they could do:
- Email the Minister, and as many MPS as you like, particularly the ones in your State. Find the email addresses here: http://www.aph.gov.au/whoswho/index.htm and follow the links to your House of Representatives or Senate members.
- Write to the papers, not just once to one paper, but many times to many papers (say, once a week). Send your letters to The Australian, your State/Territory’s main paper, and your local town or suburb/area paper.
- Talk to the neighbours. Have they got the internet? Ask them if they know about the government’s plan to for mandatory filtering. Write down this website address for them: www.censorfree.com.au.
- Phone a few friends, and talk to them about the internet.
- Participate in radio talk back shows with your favourite host about the matter.
- Email friends, all of them on your different email lists. Send them this web address: censorfree.com.au, and
- Keep us informed
